After the United States’ emotional Women’s World Cup triumph on Sunday, the team has created its own history and will forever be remembered for a sensational final and an emphatic victory.
However, the USA team from 1999 will continue to live in the hearts of many American soccer fans. Their story, just like the current squad, is incredible.
In 2007, HBO released a wonderful documentary about the story of the 1999 Women’s World Cup winning team entitled ‘Dare To Dream.’ If you haven’t seen it before, it’s highly recommended.
The documentary chronicles the rise of U.S. women’s soccer, and features Mia Hamm, Julie Foudy, Brandi Chastain, Michelle Akers, as well as cameo appearances by JP Dellacamera, Billie Jean King and others.
