Christmas has arrived early for fans of Premier League clubs as we now have our first indications of what the TV schedule will look like in the United States for the opening weeks of the 2015/16 season.
With the Premier League announcing the games in August and September that have had their kickoff times and dates changed to accommodate the UK television audience, we can now discern which matches will be shown when and at what times on US television. There are still many matches that are marked TBD (to be determined). NBC Sports typically makes those TV schedule decisions on the Tuesday preceding the Saturday matches each week.
However, what we do know is that Manchester United against Tottenham Hotspur will be the game to kick off the 2015/16 season on Saturday, August 8 on NBCSN. Later that day, viewers will be able to see defending champions Chelsea play its first league game of the season at home versus Swansea either on NBC or NBCSN.
The rest of the TV schedule can be viewed below. The only anomaly is that there’ll be one Friday night match with Aston Villa hosting Manchester United on August 14, live on NBCSN. While the Premier League won’t begin scheduling Friday matches until the 2016/17 season, the reason for Aston Villa playing on Friday night is due to events happening in Birmingham on the Saturday of that week.
During the first two months of the season, there are several massive matches scheduled including Manchester City vs Chelsea (on Sunday, August 16 on NBCSN), Arsenal vs Liverpool (Monday, August 24 on NBCSN), Manchester United vs Liverpool (Saturday, September 12 on NBCSN) and Chelsea vs Arsenal (Saturday, September 19 on NBCSN).
