US Open Cup Third Round draw revealed

The U.S. Open Cup Third Round draw took place Thursday night following the conclusion of the previous round. Eighteen Major League Soccer clubs join the competition at this stage of the knockout tournament. Along with the top flight teams, 30 other lower level clubs also make up the 48-team field for the third round.

While the draw was completed, there is still one second round matchup still to be decided. Forward Madison FC and Chicago House AC are set to face off on April 11th to decide which team will advance to the third round. Their game was previously delayed due to poor weather conditions in Wisconsin.

Top eight MLS clubs won’t enter fray until round of 32

The remaining top eight MLS clubs from the 2022 campaign will be added to the competition in the round of 32. This includes last season’s U.S. Open Cup winners Orlando City and MLS Cup title holders LAFC.

Third round fixtures will be played in late April. Exact time and dates will be revealed at a later time.

Previous coverage was available on Bleacher Report. However, like the dates and times, coverage of the US Open Cup third round is up in the air. US Soccer’s deal with Warner Bros. Discovery allows its properties to broadcast the competition.
