Monaco and Colombia striker Radamel Falcao suffered a nasty ligament injury earlier today in a French cup game, which could rule the star out of this summer’s World Cup.
Falcao was playing for Monaco against Chasselay in a Coupe de France match when, in the 40th minute he was on the wrong end of a challenge from a Chasselay defender. The medical staff ran on to the pitch and stretchered the footballer off for medical treatment. The Colombian star was grimacing in pain.
It’s not yet known what the severity of the injury is and how long he’ll be out of action, but this could come as a big blow to Colombia’s World Cup hopes.
