Paul Pogba will leave Juventus this year

Paul Pogba has signed a new contract with Juventus which will keep him with the Italian giants until June 2019. There had been speculation over the summer that the French midfielder had extended his contract with the club, but those reports were premature.

Today, the Serie A side have ended transfer speculation surrounding the 21-year-old’s future in Turin by announcing his signing with an official statement on the club’s website.

“Juventus Football Club is delighted to announce that Paul Pogba has today put pen to paper on a new contract which keeps him with the club until 2019,” the statement reads on Juventus’ official website.

Pogba’s previous deal was due to expire in 2016 which led to the France international being linked with a host of European clubs. But today’s news will bring an end to that speculation.

The new deal will reportedly see the midfielder earn roughly £80,000-a-week.

Pogba, who was named the young player of the tournament at the World Cup in Brazil this summer, moved to Turin two years ago on a free transfer from Manchester United.

“We have just signed Paul Pogba’s renewal until 2019,” Juventus club administrator Giuseppe Marotta said during the club’s shareholders meeting in Turin on Friday.

Earlier this month, Marotta had announced that the Seria A side had turned down several lucrative offers for the attacking midfielder this summer.
