Michael Laudrup Reveals He Rejected PSG to Remain at Swansea: Nightly Soccer Report

Swansea City manager Michael Laudrup admitted today that a couple of big clubs in Europe — reportedly Paris Saint-Germain, Fenerbahce and/or Monaco — were interested in signing him as a manager this summer, but that he passed on them in order to remain manager of the Swans.

Here’s what he told the media today in Holland, where the club are conducting a pre-season tour:

“Yes there were clubs — a couple of big ones as well — wanted me but it never became anything more than that. As I’ve said and confirmed many times, I wanted to stay [at Swansea].”

Laudrup dismissed the media speculation of his “row” with Swansea Chairman Huw Jenkins, and remains insistent that he’s satisfied at Swansea. And now as the club are on the verge of their record signing, the transfers are going his way too.
