Manchester United set to finalize first summer signing weeks before transfer window opens

Manchester United‘s first addition for the 2025/26 campaign is poised to finalize his transfer today, with the player travelling to Manchester to complete the deal. It has been a challenging start to life at Old Trafford for Ruben Amorim, who took over from Erik ten Hag back in November.

United have averaged just over a point per game in the Premier League since Amorim’s arrival, but their strong showing in the Europa League has given them a surprising chance to secure Champions League soccer next season.

Amorim has yet to make a signing, as Sir Jim Ratcliffe has focused on the upcoming summer transfer window rather than making moves in the January market.

Kana-Biyik set to join from Le Havre

However, United are now set to secure their first signing of the summer after agreeing a deal for Enzo Kana-Biyik from Ligue 1 club Le Havre. According to French journalist Benjamin Quarez, the 18-year-old striker is traveling to Manchester to sign his contract on Wednesday.

Kana-Biyik is yet to make a first-team appearance for Le Havre but has been training with the senior squad this season.The teenager was an unused substitute in a Ligue 1 win at Lille in February and for Le Havre’s Coupe de France exit against Stade Briochin in December.

He’s been a regular for Le Havre U19 since the start of 2025, playing 90 minutes in each of their last eight league fixtures and scoring four goals to take his total for the season to eight.

The youngster has also featured for France u18s this season but hasn’t yet found the net on the international stage.

Despite being born and raised in France, Kana-Biyak’s father, Andre, played in the 1990s and won 80 international caps for Cameroon.

United have beaten the likes of Monaco and Marseille to sign him up, and Le Parisien says they are likely to send him straight back to mainland Europe, where a loan spell at Ineos-owned Swiss Super League side Lausanne awaits. This suggests that Manchester United plans to continue his development elsewhere for now, given his lack of top level experience.
