Manchester City’s defensive woes continued this week.
After picking up a groin injury on the opening weekend of the Premer League against Newcastle United, City captain and centre half Vincent Kompany was originally scheduled to be out of first team action for four weeks or more. However, the latest reports are that Kompany may be out until October.
It looks likely that Kompany will miss the Manchester derby on September 22.
Last weekend, Manchester City signed Atletico Madrid defender Martin Demíchelis, but before the Argentine even played a single match for City, Demíchelis has been ruled out for six weeks due to a knee injury.
Matija Nastasic has returned from injury, and Micah Richards is close to returning to first team action after a hamstring injury. However, City without Kompany are certainly not as strong as they can be.
