Harry Redknapp's timeline at QPR from 2012-2015

Harry Redknapp resigned as QPR manager on Tuesday, claiming knee replacement surgery would dent the club’s Premier League survival fight.

Here, Press Association Sport’s Tom Allnutt takes a look back at Redknapp’s time at Loftus Road.

November 2012: Takes over from Mark Hughes at QPR. The club were bottom of the Premier League with just four points from 12 games.

January 2013: Leads Rangers to a 1-0 win at reigning European champions Chelsea, sparking hope of survival.

April 2013: Relegation to the Championship is confirmed with three games to play. The club went on to finish 20th in the Premier League.

October 2013: Hits out at members of the relegated squad in a newly released autobiography, ‘Always Managing My Life’, including Jose Bosingwa, whom he accused of refusing to sit on the bench.

May 2014: Secures immediate promotion back to the top flight via the Championship play-offs, beating Derby 1-0 in the final at Wembley.

October 2014: Becomes involved in an ugly spat with Adel Taarabt, claiming the midfielder was “three stone overweight”. Taarabt responded by showing his stomach in an interview with the Daily Mail and chairman Tony Fernandes was forced to intervene.

January 2015: QPR’s form continues to slide and a newspaper report suggests Redknapp is one game from the sack before a 2-0 defeat to Manchester United. Redknapp blamed the story on an insider trying to destabilize the club and Fernandes issued a statement, insisting the manager would remain until the end of the season.

January 31: Rangers lose 3-1 at Stoke, maintaining their 100 per cent losing record away from home this season and dropping to 19th in the table.

February 2, 2015: Redknapp expresses disappointment at being unable to sign new players on transfer deadline day, including Tottenham striker Emmanuel Adebayor and West Ham winger Matt Jarvis.

February 3, 2015: Redknapp resigns after 105 matches in charge, citing knee surgery as a key factor in his decision.
