Faubert Arrives In Madrid On Loan

Real Madrid found a provisional solution at right midfield by obtaining the services of French international Julien Faubert on a six-month loan but the Merengues have the option to buy him from West Ham United for an estimated six million euros.

Faubert began his career playing for French side Cannes and then moved to Bordeaux.  In 2005, West Ham beat out Rangers for the Frenchman’s services and began to establish himself in the Hammers lineup.  In a preseason match in 2007 against Czech side Sigma Olomouc he tore his Achilles’  tendon.   The injury kept him out of the lineup for well over six months.  This season, Faubert has only been able to play in eight matches this year for West Ham this season, but that has mostly been attributed to a rash of injuries that he has gone through so far.

This year he made the adjustment to from right back to right midfield and has made the switch quite impressively.

Faubert was the Plan B after Wigan’s Luis Antonio Valencia became too expensive for Madrid.
