EPL commentators on NBC: April 25 to 27

It truly could be a title decider. Arsenal and Manchester City, the runaway teams at the top of the Premier League table, have their long-anticipated battle on Wednesday. If Arsenal wins, the Premier League race is alive and well, and it becomes anyone’s to play for. However, if Manchester City wins, it would be just two points behind Arsenal. However, the defending champions would have two games in hand.

That is just one of a number of headline games happening throughout the week in the Premier League. For example, in the thick of the relegation battle, Leicester City battles Leeds in a game with massive implications for the drop. Both are narrowly above the relegation spots. In fact, Leicester is level on points with Everton but has a better goal differential. Southampton’s game against Bournemouth has similar implications. While these two clubs have nine points of separation, neither is guaranteed safety nor relegation.

Elsewhere in the table, some games could affect European spots. For example, Aston Villa, a club flying up to sixth in the league, takes on Fulham. While Fulham might just be out of European contention, a top-half finish in the table is still on the cards.

Finally, capping off the week of games, Tottenham hosts Manchester United on Thursday afternoon. United is fourth in the table and Spurs are fifth. However, the two clubs have six points of separation. Plus, United has played two fewer games. It is simply a must-win game for Tottenham on the back of its embarrassing defeat at Newcastle.
