Edinson Cavani Wanted By Manchester City and Chelsea, Says Napoli President

Edinson Cavani is being chased by both Manchester City and Chelsea, according to Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis.

The talented Uruguayan striker who plays for Napoli could be headed to the Premier League next season, but will Chelsea or Manchester City win the race to sign him?

Here’s what De Laurentiis said:

“Chelsea are interested in Cavani and they will call me soon.

“I’m very happy that his brother has said that he will stay, but if he did decide to go to Chelsea we would take time out to think and replace him with people worthy of replacing him.”

De Laurentiis certainly likes to talk to the press and stir up trouble. It was just over two weeks ago that De Laurentiis said that he sent his sporting director to Manchester City to try to negotiate a swap deal that would see Edin Dzeko head to Napoli, while Cavani would go to Manchester City.
