Cristiano Ronaldo Will Not Attend Ballon d'Or Gala After Being Disrespected by FIFA, Says Report

Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo will not attend the 2013 FIFA Ballon d’Or gala scheduled for January because he believes he has been disrespected by FIFA, according to a report today in the Spanish media.

Ronaldo is believed to be upset regarding the treatment he’s received from FIFA in recent months. After FIFA President Sepp Blatter publicly made fun of Ronaldo at a speech in England, Ronaldo is now upset at FIFA because Lionel Messi and Franck Ribery received more positive write-ups than Ronaldo. And that was the final straw for CR7, according to AS.

If the reports are true, Ronaldo’s actions smack of immaturity, feeling victimized and being a poor loser. Ronaldo has as good a chance of any of winning the award this year. And just because FIFA may not be giving him the love he feels he deserves, he needs to attend the gala to show his sportsmanship.
