After securing a spot in the FA Cup final following a 2-0 semifinal victory over Nottingham Forest, Manchester City is looking to finish the season strongly and begin planning for the upcoming transfer market with manager Pep Guardiola.

In this context, one of the objectives is to find a replacement for Kevin De Bruyne, who will leave at the end of the season, and now it has become known that another important figure could leave the institution once the team’s participation in the Club World Cup concludes.

According to English media reports, Ederson Moraes, the Brazilian goalkeeper for the Citizens, has chances of leaving in the next transfer market, as he has offers from soccer in Saudi Arabia, as happened a year ago, when he was close to leaving.

In addition, they state that Manchester City is willing to negotiate the 31-year-old goalkeeper, who arrived at the club in mid-2017, after the team finishes playing the Club World Cup in the United States, which will be held between June and July of this year.

Contract situation could facilitate move

A fact to take into account and that could help Ederson’s departure is his contractual situation, since he has a link with the English club for one more year, until June 30, 2026. That is why in the face of a good economic offer, the Brazilian would pack his bags.

On the other hand, taking into account this possible departure of the goalkeeper, Manchester City already has two possible replacements on the agenda. One of them is Jan Oblak, today in Atlético de Madrid, while the other is Diogo Costa, one of the figures of Porto.

Ederson’s record at Manchester City

Since his arrival to the English team in mid-2017 from Benfica, the Portuguese goalkeeper has played a total of 365 games. In them, he received 304 goals and kept his goal at 0 on 164 occasions. In addition, he was cautioned 28 times and expelled once.

As for his titles, he was crowned champion of 18 titles, among which 6 Premier League, the 2022/23 Champions League and the 2024 Club World Cup stand out.

Ederson’s potential departure would mark the end of an era at Manchester City, but the club seems to be already preparing for the future with a list of potential replacements.
