AC Milan Set to Sack Clarence Seedorf and Replace Him With Filippo Inzaghi, Say Reports

If reports in Italy’s three sports papers Gazzetta dello Sport, Corriere dello Sport and Tuttosport are to be believed, AC Milan is going from one legendary player to another as manager. The club looks to chop and change managers again by replacing Clarence Seedorf with Filippo “Pippo” Inzaghi who is currently managing the Rossoneri’s youth side. An eleven-year playing veteran of the club, Inzaghi — like Seedorf  — would take the job with no previous senior management experience.

Milan’s results improved under Seedorf, who took the side over when they were sitting 11th in the league in January and closer in terms of points to the relegation zone than a European place. Ultimately under Seedorf, the Rossoneri came within a point of European qualification and finished the season 8th in the Serie A table.

As a player, Inzaghi won the Serie A and UEFA Champions League twice. He also was a regular on the Italian National Team, winning 57 caps for the Azzurri and was a member of the 2006 World Cup winning side.

Seedorf’s limited success in a short period of time with Milan could mean he will quickly snapped up by another club and given more time to ply his trade a manager.
