The number of people who watched the 2014 MLS Cup on ESPN increased by 91% compared to last year’s MLS Cup. An average viewing audience of 964,000 tuned in to watch LA Galaxy defeat New England Revolution 2-1 in the 120 minute match.

The average viewing audience for the 2013 MLS Cup was 505,000.

While the 2014 MLS Cup percentage increase is impressive and was better than the viewing audience for the 2010 MLS Cup (748,000 viewers), it failed to beat the 2011 MLS Cup viewing audience of 1.03 million.

From the past five MLS Cup games, the 2014 MLS Cup had the second best viewing audience figure.

Meanwhile, for the Spanish-language broadcast, the Univision Deportes broadcast of the MLS Final on the UniMás Network ranked as the most-viewed MLS Finals telecast broadcasted by Univision Deportes. The match delivered an average of 678,000 Total Viewers. Performance increased +31% among Total Viewers.
