Japanese international Hiroki Sakai scored an amazing goal for Hannover 96 against Werder Bremen at the weekend in the derby match between these two northern German clubs.
Werder Bremen announcer Christian Stoll described the goal as “that shot was a bit of Fukushima” (referring to the nuclear plant). Stoll later apologized.
Sakai’s goal was an equalizer for Hannover in the 41st minute. However, Bremen fought back and won the derby 3-2. Despite the loss, the goal will definitely live in the memories of Hannover fans for quite some time.
