The last 7 days have seen the return of Andriy Shevchenko to Milan, the confirmed loan move of Philippe Senderos also a Rossoneri, as well as the permanent signing of Rolando Bianchi from Manchester City to Torino. Now Ghanian international Stephen Appiah wants his turn and is holding out for a Juventus signing.
Appiah played several seasons in Turin and knows the club and city well, wearing the Bianconeri colours before his road trip to Turkish giants Fenerbahce. In fact the native of Accra Ghana honed much of his skills in Italy prior to Juventus and Fenebahce, by spending time at several other Italian sides including Udinese, Parma and Brescia. The African playmaker is no stranger to Italian football and at the age of 27 surely desires to live that glory again.
When asked about his Turkish employer by an Accra radio station Appiah stated, “Now I am a free agent,” and continued, “A few issues happened between me and the club so I no longer play for them.”
Appiah is an offensive minded midfielder, with good tactical awareness he is capped 53 times scoring 13 goals for his national team Ghana.
