Manchester City have agreed a deal with Fiorentina to sign striker Stevan Jovetic in a transfer that’s reportedly worth £23million. Jovetic will be a City footballer after he passes his medical and agrees personal terms.
“[Fiorentina has] reached an agreement with Manchester City Football Club for the permanent transfer of the player Stevan Jovetic,” read an official club statement from Fiorentina, the Serie A club.
The 23-year-old striker is best known to English football fans as the explosive striker who played for his national team, Montenegro, against England in World Cup qualifying matches.
From 2008 to 2013, Jovetic made 116 league appearances for Fiorentina, scoring 35 goals.
Jovetic is Manchester City’s fourth major signing of the summer after bringing Fernandinho, Alvaro Negredo and Jesus Navasto the club.
