West Brom reject £22 million bid from Spurs for Saido Berahino

Berahino

West Brom have rejected a second bid from Tottenham for Saido Berahino.

The Baggies are standing firm over the striker’s future after they turned down a transfer request from him on Monday.

Press Association Sport understands Spurs are yet to get close to Albion’s valuation of the England Under-21 striker with a reported bid of £22million wide of the mark.

In a statement released by West Bromwich Albion, chairman Jeremy Pearce said:

“Our position remains unchanged. The sale of this player is not on our agenda.”

WBA has already rejected a £15 million bid from Tottenham Hotspur for the striker. Previously, manager Tony Pulis has said that he would be willing to sell Berahino to a top four club for the right offer.

With West Brom rejecting the transfer request, it now forces Spurs to put in a massive offer to convince the Baggies to change their mind. Otherwise, it appears very likely that Berahino will stay at West Brom to help them stay up in the league this season.

With West Brom receiving millions from TV revenue, they don’t have to sell Berahino if they don’t want to.
