Referee Andre Marriner made a horrible decision in the London derby between Chelsea and Arsenal today when he mistakenly sent off Kieran Gibbs instead of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain for a handball in the area.
With Chelsea leading 2-0 with early goals by Samuel Eto’o and Andre Schurrle, Chelsea took a shot on goal but it was saved on the line by Chamberlain, who handled the ball to direct it around the post.
Unfortunately, Marriner and the assistant referees made the mistake to send Gibbs off, thinking it was him who handled the ball.
The Ox walked up to Marriner and told him “It was me.” But it was Gibbs who got the marching orders.

Eden Hazard scored the resulting penalty to put Chelsea into a 3-0 first half lead.
According to NBC Sports, a representative from PGMOL says that Kieran Gibbs will have the red card suspension removed on Monday, so that Oxlade-Chamberlain will receive the red card suspension instead.
