Violence erupts ahead of Red Bulls vs. NYCFC game [VIDEO]

Violence erupted this afternoon between New York Red Bulls and New York City FC supporters outside a bar in Newark, New Jersey ahead of the derby between the two MLS teams.

Members of the Garden State Ultras, a group that describes itself as “a European ULTRA style of support for the NYRB,” were at their supporters’ bar, an establishment named Bello’s Pub and Grill. The bar is a 5-minute car ride from Red Bull Arena in Harrison, New Jersey.

In eyewitness video captured by Associated Press reporter Rob Harris, sets of New York Red Bulls and New York City FC fans can be seen clashing. The Garden State Ultras often wear black T-shirts.
