Tottenham won't sell Kane to Man United or Chelsea, says report

There is no secret that Manchester United needs a center forward this summer. While the Red Devils are comfortably in a top-four Premier League place, they do tend to rely on Marcus Rashford. The English winger has had a superb season with manager Erik ten Hag. Nevertheless, United needs a top striker to help bare the scoring load.

United currently has by far the lowest total of top-flight goals of any team in the top five. Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane would certainly be the ideal addition to ten Hag’s team. The manager has even been open to praising Kane to the media. However, Spurs chairman Daniel Levy does not want to let go of his superstar just yet.

Tottenham head Levy doesn’t want to sell Kane to United or Chelsea

According to the Daily Mail, Levy wants to keep Kane in north London at all costs. The England international is widely considered one of the best center forwards in all of Europe. His 24 Premier League goals during the current campaign are second only to possible robot Erling Haaland. The Manchester City center forward recently broke the record for most goals in a 38-game English top-flight season with 33.

Kane is, however, about to enter his last season under contract at Spurs. This means that the star could eventually depart the club for free in 2024. Levy and Spurs would love for Kane to sign a new contract with the club to extend his stay in London. However, the player has stalled on an agreement and Spurs could be forced to sell him this summer.

Assuming this happens, the aforementioned news outlet claims that Levy would much rather sell Kane to a club outside of the Premier League. This would seemingly rule out a switch to Manchester United, Chelsea, or any other English club that wants Kane.

United fans sang Kane’s name during Thursday’s game

Spurs and United played Thursday night in north London. During the second half, away United fans sang “Harry Kane, we’ll see you in June.” After the match, Kane admitted that he heard the chants, but claimed that he was focused on the game.

Nevertheless, United may have to move on to other transfer targets. Napoli’s Victor Osimhen and Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic are reportedly backup plans for the club. Outside of England, Kane will certainly have a list of potential suitors. Bayern Munich, in particular, have also been open in their affinity for Kane in recent months.
