Tottenham Given Boost By News That Christian Eriksen Injury Is Not As Bad As First Thought: Daily Soccer Report

Tottenham Hotspur received a boost this morning when a MRI scan of Christian Eriksen’s ankles revealed that he has suffered a sprain of the lateral ankle ligament. Prior to the scan, there were concerns that Tottenham’s attacking midfielder could be out of action for up to three months, but according to the club, “Christian’s scan showed no sign of ruptured ligaments which will result in a shorter period of recovery for the attacking midfielder.”

Spurs didn’t indicate the length of the recovery, but conservative estimates are that he’ll be out of action for up to four weeks.

Eriksen suffered the injury during a friendly on Friday while playing for Denmark, when he was on the receiving end of a bad tackle.

Tottenham’s next match is this Sunday against Manchester City.
