Tottenham Hotspur and Real Madrid have agreed a world transfer record fee of £85million for Gareth Bale to move to Spain, according to a report tonight in Spain.
Spanish radio station Cope claims that a deal has been reached, and that the announcement will be made official on Friday after the Bernabeu Trophy game is played tomorrow against Al-Sadd, which will feature a tribute to former Real Madrid striker Raul.
The publication reports that Bale will be presented to the Real Madrid supporters next week.
The breaking news correlates with what noted Spanish journalist Guillem Balague reported tonight that “The [Gareth] Bale deal could be [confirmed] before tomorrow night or on Friday (Real wouldn’t want to overshadow Raul homage at the Bernabeu tomorrow).”
Meanwhile, The Guardian newspaper reported that Tottenham Hotspur Technical Director Franco Baldini was in Madrid tonight to finalize the deal.
