Top 10 Premier League Attendances For Gameweek 4, 2010

For a change of pace, I thought it’d be interesting to see which clubs had the highest attendances from this past weekend’s Premier League matches. Usually the list is pretty predictable especially when Manchester United plays at home because they always have the biggest attendances. But with both Man United, Chelsea and Liverpool all playing away this past weekend, here are the top ten attendances:

  1. Arsenal, Emirates Stadium (v Bolton), 59,876
  2. Newcastle United, St James’ Park (v Blackpool), 49,597
  3. Manchester City, City of Manchester Stadium (v Blackburn), 44,246
  4. Everton, Goodison Park (v Manchester United), 36,556
  5. West Ham United, Boleyn Ground (v Chelsea), 33,014
  6. Birmingham City, St Andrews (v Liverpool), 27,333
  7. Stoke City, Britannia Stadium (v Aston Villa), 25,899
  8. Fulham, Craven Cottage (v Wolves), 25,280
  9. West Bromwich Albion, The Hawthorns (v Spurs), 23,642
  10. Wigan Athletic, DW Stadium (v Sunderland), 15,844

Not surprisingly, Wigan Athletic propped up the rear. It’s nice to see the Geordies continually coming out to support their side. The capacity at St James’ Park is 52,387, so it was almost a sold-out match. As for the other home clubs in the Premier League who played this past weekend, most of the clubs were at or near full capacity.
