If Jurgen Klinsmann turns down the expected offer of becoming the next US national team manager, what would you think about Sven-Goran Erikkson taking the reigns of managing the US instead?
It’s not entirely an insane idea. The reason I mention the topic is because today the BBC is reporting that Erikkson has just turned down offers to manage Jamaica and an unnamed Champions League team.
Sven is definitely available for the US job (if US Soccer is interested in speaking with him). However I wonder if US Soccer would be able to afford the Swede. If they were able to agree financial terms, I see no reason why Sven wouldn’t take the job.
However, Klinsmann is the obvious choice especially in terms of being the type of manager that the US needs. Someone who is able to make the right decisions, to raise the passion in its players and in tune with the advances in modern sports science.
