Sunderland have signed Senegal striker Dame N’Doye on loan from Trabzonspor until the end of the season, the struggling Premier League club announced on Thursday. Black Cats boss Sam Allardyce moved for N’Doye to bolster his attacking options as he tries to haul Sunderland out of the relegation zone.
The 30-year-old was judged a good fit because he has previous Premier League experience with Hull City last season, scoring five goals in 15 appearances before moving to Turkey in August.
“Dame will bring something different to our forward options,” Allardyce told Sunderland’s website.
“Having already played in the Premier League, he should have no problems in hitting the ground running, too, which is very important at this stage of the season.”

N’Doye, who will not be available for Saturday’s trip to Tottenham Hotspur, made an immediate impact with three goals in his first four games for Hull and also scored a double against Crystal Palace. But the Tigers were eventually relegated and he left after Trabzonspor met his release clause of $3.1 million.
Sunderland are one point and one place adrift of safety following Wednesday’s 4-2 win at fellow strugglers Swansea City.
