Chelsea kicks off its 2012 US summer tour with a friendly against Seattle Sounders tonight. For viewers in the United States, the game will be shown live on ESPN2 beginning at 9:30pm ET (also shown live on ESPN3.com).
Playing their first match since the triumph of winning the 2011-12 UEFA Champions League Final, Chelsea will hopefully give debuts to new signings Eden Hazard and Marko Marin. Plus, it’ll be a good opportunity to see if January transfer signing Kevin De Bruyne gets a run out for a Blues side that is expected to be very strong next season.
The last time these two teams played each other, in 2009, Chelsea won 2-0 in front of a capacity 69,000 crowd. I don’t expect tonight’s crowd to be as large, but it should be an entertaining game in front of a wonderful set of supporters.
