Scott Sinclair wants to sign a permanent deal at Aston Villa

Scott Sinclair has revealed he is ready to sign a permanent deal at Aston Villa.

The Manchester City loanee wants to stay at Villa Park after his deal expires at the end of the season.

Sinclair joined Villa in January and has scored three goals in 10 games, including two in three outings during their run to the FA Cup final.

The 26-year-old played as a late substitute in Sunday’s 2-1 semi-final win over Liverpool to set up a meeting with Arsenal in the final.

Sinclair is yet to hold talks over his future but wants to stay beyond the Wembley showdown with the Gunners.

“Definitely, I feel at home at Villa, it’s a great club, I’m sure at the end of the season we can sit down and I can sign,” he said.

“I just have to wait until the end of the season.”

Sinclair is ineligible for Saturday’s trip to parent club City but has little future at the Etihad having started just three times since moving from Swansea in 2012.

But he has become a key part of Villa’s midfield with Fabian Delph and believes the skipper is becoming one of the Barclays Premier League’s most influential players.

He said: “I think when you are playing every week you go into a place where you get more confident and that’s what he’s done.

“He’s stayed here, signed a new contract and this is his home. He is performing every week and every week he is improving.”

In contrast, Liverpool skipper Steven Gerrard failed to make an impact on Sunday, although had a header cleared off the line by Kieran Richardson, as he prepares to leave Anfield for the LA Galaxy in the summer.

And former Reds team-mate Joe Cole, who made a late substitute appearance for Villa, believes he is irreplaceable.

He said: “Any team that loses Steven Gerrard, it’s going to be tough to replace him. I don’t think you can replace him, probably the best player of his generation for England, and for Liverpool it’s unbelievable, and it’s a tall ask for Liverpool but you’ve got a good manager in Brendan (Rodgers) and he can change things around.”

Cole also joined in the glowing praise for Jack Grealish after the 19-year-old’s starring role in Sunday’s Wembley win.

He added: “You look at the last three games he started, he’s got better every game. Working hard, and he can be a top player, no doubt. I enjoy helping him. He’s a real talent, and hopefully he’s going to be at Villa in many years.”
