Schweinsteiger Slams Argentina

Schweinsteiger Aims To End Argentina’s World Cup Run.

Germany’s battling midfielder, Bastian Schweinsteiger, has today come out in the press and has spoken about his side’s quarter-final meeting against Argentina.

Schweinsteiger spoke to the press on Wednesday and is quoted as saying;

From Goal.com,

“When one sees Argentina’s games and the way in which they try to influence the referees… It is a lack of respect, but this is what the Argentines are like. We have to be ready for it, I just hope the referee has a good day.”

Schweinsteiger also criticized Argentina’s fans, and reserved a few choice words for them as well:

“We have already seen how the Argentine fans sit together in spite of the fact that those are not their proper seats, and they stop other spectators with the correct tickets from enjoying the game.”

Schweinsteiger, at his club side Bayern Munich, is teammates with Argentina’s Martin Demichelis. Surely, though, none of that will matter come Saturday’s epic encounter. Schweinsteiger seems absolutely mentally prepared for what is already one of the most anticipated matches of this World Cup.

The mind games have started early, and I don’t doubt that Argentina will have a reply to Schweinsteiger’s criticism. Diego Maradona, as we all know, isn’t one to hide his feelings when it comes to press conferences.
