RSL Is Through, And Part One Of Our Preview: Major League Soccer Talk Podcast

Real Salt Lake became the first Major League Soccer team to reach the CONCACAF Champions League semifinals, set to take on Costa Rican side Deportivo Saprissa after each time won mid-week. For RSL, their success comes at the expense of fellow MLS team Columbus Crew, losing 4-1 on Tuesday at Rio Tinto, dropping out of Champions League byt the same aggregate score.

On this edition of the Major League Soccer Talk podcast, my co-host Christopher Riordan and myself discuss RSL’s triumph and their chances for further success in the competition. Can Real Salt Lake become Major League Soccer’s first winner of this competition?

But for the bulk of the show, we talk about the upcoming Major League Soccer season, taking time to talk about those teams Chris and I see missing this year’s playoffs. On next week’s shows we will discuss our wild card teams as well as our picks to finish one through three in each conference, but tonight, we pick our eight teams that we see failing to make the 10 team playoffs.
