Premier League Sunday: Nov. 14, 2010

Today gives us two very important matches for all four teams involved. Arsenal travel to Goodison Park to play Everton, a side that they usually has a difficult time beating. Except for last year when the Gunners won 6-1 on the opening day of the season.

While Arsenal will be focused on getting all three points so they can narrow the gap at the top of the table, it’s also a vital match for Everton who, if they lose, will stay stuck just two points above the relegation zone. But if they win they will find themselves as high as eighth position. Such is how tight the Premier League is right now.

Later today we’ll have the prospect of Chelsea at home against Sunderland. The Blues continue to be a formidable force especially at Stamford Bridge, so I’m not holding out much luck for the Black Cats. But Steve Bruce’s side desperately need points to help put their derby defeat out of their minds.

A win for Chelsea will put them six points ahead in the Premier League.
