NBCSN Posts Record Numbers for New Year's Day Premier League Coverage

NBCSN posted record numbers for its Premier League coverage on New Year’s Day 2015.

Compared to last year, NBCSN saw a 28% increase in viewers with an average of 446,000 tuning in for the Premier League matches on January 1. The 12:30pm ET match between Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea averaged 631,000 viewers, which ranks as the most-watched New Year’s Premier League game on record for US television.

Meanwhile, the successful debut of Premier League Breakaway averaged 406,000 viewers, which is up 10% from last year’s 10am-Noon ET slot when Southampton-Chelsea was featured. In addition to the 10% lift in viewers, there was a 44% increase in the adult 18-49 demographic.

The early kickoff (7:45am ET) between Stoke City and Manchester United averaged 330,000 viewers.
