Manchester United vs Newcastle United – team news and predicted lineups

Manchester United will be aiming to maintain their 100% record in the new Premier League campaign when they host Newcastle United at Old Trafford on Saturday.

The Red Devils won both of their first two games against Tottenham and Aston Villa via a 1-0 scoreline but will be looking to score some more goals in front of their home supporters.

Dutch Winger Memphis Depay will be one to watch after the 21-year-old shone in the midweek Champions League qualifying match over Club Brugge.

Over the week, United were linked with a move for Southampton winger Saido Mane after missing out on Pedro Rodriguez who has since joined Chelsea while David de Gea’s future remains unresolved.

Newcastle are winless from their opening two games and followed up a draw with Southampton with a defeat to Swansea City last time out.

New manager Steve McClaren will hope his side can start picking up points quickly so that they can avoid another relegation battle this time around.

In the transfer scene, the Magpies finally completed the signing of Frenchman Florian Thuavin from Marseille  on Wednesday with Remy Cabella moving in the opposite direction on a season-long loan.

The last meeting between both sides ended in defeat for Newcastle as Louis van Gaal’s men claimed a slim 1-0 win at St James’s Park in March.

Emmanuel Riveri, Siem de Jong, Sylvain Marveaux and Curtis Good are the other players unlikely to make the trip to Old Trafford.
