Juventus fear no one and are targeting the treble, says Fernando Llorente

Juventus striker Fernando Llorente says his team fears nobody and are targeting the treble after securing their fourth consecutive Serie A title.

Despite being one of Europe’s top teams in recent years, many experts consider Juventus underdogs heading into Tuesday’s Champions League semi-final first leg against Real Madrid.

The most recent meeting between the two teams came during last season’s Champions League Round of 16. Real Madrid won 2-1 at home before securing a 2-2 away draw to advance to the quarter-finals of the competition, before eventually winning their tenth European Cup in Lisbon.

However, Juventus are unbeaten in 12 home matches in UEFA competitions and have won four out of five games in Turin during this campaign – including victories over Borussia Dortmund and AS Monaco in the knockout rounds.

Overall, the Bianconeri have lost just once in seventeen European home fixtures at the new Juventus Stadium (W10, D6, L1).

Speaking ahead of Tuesday’s first leg, Fernando Llorente said his side fear nobody and are determined to silence their critics by winning the treble this season.

“We believe in the treble, of course we do,” Llorente said. “It’s down to us. We fear nobody.

“Tomorrow we can play a great game. After all, there’s no hiding the face that it will take a super Juventus to knock out the Spanish side.

“I don’t consider these the two matches of the year, but the matches of a lifetime.

“Few players in the world have the opportunity to play for such prestigious trophies. And we do.”

Programming note: Juventus vs. Real Madrid will be shown LIVE on Tuesday at 2:45pm EST on FOX Sports 1 and FoxSoccer2Go.
