Diego Lopez On the Verge Of A Switch To AC Milan

Real Madrid goalkeeper Diego Lopez has agreed to personal terms with Italian giants AC Milan and is scheduled to have a medical on Monday.

Lopez’s agent, Manuael Garcia Quillon negotiated the deal last night and finalized it this morning following face-to-face meetings with Milan representatives. Real Madrid have already agreed to let the Italian club have Lopez free of charge, save for performance-related bonuses at the end of the season.

AC Milan CEO Adriano Galliani has stated that the transfer is “99% done”, but the remaining details will be hashed out once Lopez arrives in Italy to complete his medical.

The goalkeeper became expendable once Real Madrid president Florentino Perez signed Keylor Navas from Levante.

The Spanish newspaper Marca is reporting that even though Lopez is preparing to leave the club, he will train as normal alongside Iker Casillas and Navas at Valdebebas today. However, the 32-year-old will not travel with Real Madrid to Cardiff as they prepare for the UEFA Super Cup match against Sevilla.

It is believed Lopez will join the Rossoneri on a four-year contract.
