David Moyes Has Brought Immediate Changes To Training At Real Sociedad

Real Sociedad’s new manager David Moyes has wasted no time ringing in the changes at the La Liga club.

After overseeing the Spanish side’s last three training last week, Moyes took full control and has immediately put his own stamp on things by scheduling two sessions a day since Monday. The double sessions are something that has not been common at the La Liga club.

The Scottish boss has also decided that Real Sociedad’s sessions will be “behind closed doors” more so than they have in the past. Previous managers tended to run ‘secret’ sessions twice a week. But Moyes intends to double the number of sessions without reporters or the public being present.

While Moyes’ changes were questioned and disapproved of by some of his former players at Manchester United, it appears his new side are impressed by the mark the new manager is making in training.

Speaking at a press conference today, Real Sociedad midfielder Markel Bergara explained that Moyes has brought a stronger focus and new energy since he took charge of training at the La Liga club.

“At the moment they are harder sessions and there is a lot of focus, intensity, getting stuck in and pressurizing opponents,” Bergara told the press. “They’ve been short but intense and we’re enjoying them. I get the feeling the new coach is looking forward to the challenge and has come in with very clear ideas.”

“He knows what he wants from us and has already got to know us. He wants us to be on top of our rivals and that’s what we’ve been working towards.”

The midfielder also expressed that there have been no issues in terms of a language barrier between the Scottish manager and his mostly-Spanish speaking players.

“We understand the basic theories and for other things we have the services of a translator, but it hasn’t proved to be a barrier,” Bergara concluded.
