Cristiano Ronaldo’s contract renewal with Al Nassr has kick-started the club’s efforts to reinforce key areas ahead of the 2025–26 season. Following the acquisition of Joao Felix, the Saudi Pro League side is now reportedly targeting a $100 million signing from Manchester United.
In a surprise turn, Al Nassr swooped in to finalize a deal for Felix, effectively hijacking negotiations between Benfica and Chelsea. Ronaldo, Felix’s Portugal teammate, reportedly played a pivotal role in convincing the forward to join the Saudi project—a move that came together in record time.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the agreement is expected to be worth around €30 million, with an additional €20 million in performance-based add-ons to Chelsea. While the official announcement is still pending, only minor details remain before Felix is unveiled as an Al Nassr player. Meanwhile, the club continues to seek firepower in attack.
Antony emerges as Al Nassr’s next target
According to UOL Esporte, Al Nassr have set their sights on Manchester United winger Antony. The Brazilian was left out of the Red Devils’ U.S. preseason tour and is widely expected to move during the 2025 summer transfer window—creating a prime opportunity for Al Nassr to make a move.
After a rocky spell at Old Trafford, Antony rediscovered his form at Real Betis, helping the La Liga side reach the UEFA Conference League final and narrowly miss Champions League qualification. However, a permanent return to Spain appears unlikely due to Manchester United’s high asking price and Antony’s substantial wages.
The Brazilian outlet reports that Manchester United—who paid Ajax nearly €95 million (approx. $100M) for Antony in 2023—are now seeking €58 million for his transfer. Interest from European clubs is growing, with RB Leipzig, Bayer Leverkusen, Brighton, Newcastle United, and Betis all monitoring the situation.
With Jorge Jesus now at the helm, Al Nassr are eager to strengthen their right flank. Otavio has been left out of the club’s preseason tour in Austria, casting doubt over his future and potentially opening up a foreign-player slot. Antony is viewed as a strong candidate to fill that void as Al Nassr aim to challenge for silverware in the upcoming season.
