Cristiano Ronaldo to Fly to United States to Play In Ann Arbor and Dallas Games, Says Report

Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo is set to join up with the team in the United States on Saturday, which means he should be available to play in the matches in Dallas (July 29 against AS Roma) and Ann Arbor (August 2 against Manchester United), according to MLive.

His teammates Iker Casillas, Luka Modric and Sergio Ramos arrived in Los Angeles yesterday, after arriving from their extended break after the World Cup.

There was doubt as to whether Ronaldo would make Real Madrid’s tour of the States, after his name was initially omitted from the 20 man squad for the International Champions Cup last week. Ronaldo struggled with a niggling knee injury throughout the World Cup and resulted in him not reaching his usual high performance levels, and it was thought that this could be one reason he was set to miss out on the tour, as well as an opportunity for him to recover from a long season.

However, the Ballon D’or winner, who has scored 252 goals in 246 appearances for Los Blancos, is set to make an appearance in the Ann Arbor leg of the US tour as well as their second International Champions Cup match against AS Roma in Dallas.

Ronaldo has been with Real Madrid since the summer of 2009 and finally added the Champions League to his collection of honors last season. He will be looking to move on from a disappointing World Cup for his native Portugal by getting back on track with Madrid.

Tickets are available for Real Madrid’s game against AS Roma in Dallas.
