Chelsea have reached their twelfth major final during Roman Abramovich’s reign after Brazilian David Luiz scored a scorcher of a goal to put the game out of FC Basel’s reach in the UEFA Europa League semi-final second leg.
With a goal that looked like it was going to be teed up for Frank Lampard, David Luiz decided to have a crack at goal instead, which he took beautifully and curled the ball into the corner of the net.
Here’s David Luiz’s goal in all its beauty:
Chelsea defeated FC Basel 3-1 on the night, and 5-2 on aggregate and will face Benfica in the Europa League Final on May 15.
