The draw for the quarter-finals of the 2011-12 Carling Cup has been made, and there are quite a few mouthwatering matches in store.
The draw revealed:
Arsenal v Manchester City
Chelsea v Liverpool
Manchester United v Crystal Palace
Cardiff City v Blackburn Rovers
The matches between Arsenal and Manchester City and Chelsea versus Liverpool, should be entertaining ones, no doubt. In the two other games, the two high-flying Championship sides Crystal Palace and Cardiff City will be looking forward to shock wins against Manchester United and Blackburn Rovers respectively.
Rovers manager Steve Kean must be counting his lucky stars. Even if the team continues its poor form in the Premier League, he can leverage his team’s success in the Carling Cup as a reason to keep him employed. And now the former Swansea player will be looking forward to the game against Cardiff. A win will book Blackburn a semi-final dream match.
The Carling Cup games will be played on or around November 28, 2011.
