Capital One Cup Quarter-Final Draw Unveiled; Underdogs Face Premier League Opposition

The Capital One Cup quarter-final draw was held following the completion of the Newcastle United’s 2-0 victory over title-holders Manchester City.

The standout tie will be Championship side AFC Bournemouth hosting Premier league giants Liverpool. The Cherries got to the last-eight of the competition for the first time in club history by beating West Brom 2-1 on Tuesday night.

Another Championship club, Derby County, will host the current leaders of the Premier League, Chelsea, in another quarter-final tie.

In the remaining ties: League One’s Sheffield United will be home to in-form Southampton and Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham Hotspurs will have a chance to reverse last weekend’s 2-1 league defeat to Newcastle United when Alan Pardew’s side return to White Hart Lane for a Capital One Cup final-eight encounter.

Ties will be played on the week commencing December 15th.
