Since the FIFA Club World Cup‘s inception in 2000, Bayern’s 10-0 demolition of Auckland City stands as the largest margin of victory in the tournament’s history. As just the second match in the expanded 32-team format, it also sets the tone for the competition’s new era.

The previous record was held by Al Hilal, who defeated Al Jazira 6-1 in the quarterfinals of the 2022 edition. That result helped the Saudi side reach the semifinals, where they were later knocked out by Chelsea, who would turn into the eventual champions.

While the 2025 Club World Cup is only getting underway, Bayern Munich have already written a chapter in the record books—a result so emphatic, it may prove difficult for any team to top.
