Angel Di Maria Set To Leave Real Madrid For Paris Saint-Germain

Real Madrid are in the final stages of a deal that will see Angel Di Maria sent to Paris Saint-Germain. The only details being hashed out at this hour are whether the transfer will be a loan deal or a permanent one.

A decision is expected within the next 24 hours.

PSG are reportedly weighing up the option of paying the ten-time champions of Europe around £47.5 million for the winger, but the French side will have to sell a player first.

The club are also considering a loan deal that would see them pay approximately £8million to Real Madrid for this season, with an option to make the transfer permanent at the conclusion of the 2014-15 season.

In order for PSG to bring in any new player, the French club must first lighten its wage bill. The Ligue 1 side were handed sanctions by UEFA and must abide by Financial Fair Play, which specifically states that club cannot exceed its salary costs from last season .

That player PSG is rumored to be selling is forward Edinson Cavani.

Cavani has been unsettled at the Ligue 1 club and it has been learned that the Uruguayan striker has failed to travel with PSG on their preseason tour of Asia.

When officials at Paris Saint-Germain where questioned on the reason for Cavani’s absence, the reply was that the 27-year-old was battling a virus.

The Spanish press is reporting that sources close to the negotiations between the two clubs are insisting that this deal will take place and will be concluded in the coming hours.
