Protestors tie themselves to goal posts and halt Bundesliga match

Berlin (AFP) – Two environmental protestors forced Sunday’s Bundesliga match between hosts Eintracht Frankfurt and Freiburg to be briefly halted Sunday.

Shortly after kick-off, protestors wearing t-shirts bearing the German text “Last Generation – Stop the Fossil Fuel Madness” each tied themselves to a post in the Frankfurt goal.

It took stewards around four minutes to break the ties and remove the protestors so the game could continue.

There was a similar incident last month during the Everton-Newcastle United game in the English Premier League at Goodison Park.

A protestor tied himself to a goalpost wearing a t-shirt reading “Just Stop Oil”.
