Paris (AFP) – French Ligue 1 side Bastia were punished on Thursday for crowd violence which forced last month’s home match with Lyon to be abandoned at half time.
The league’s disciplinary commission awarded Lyon a win and ordered Bastia’s Furiani stadium to be closed for two games.
A Bastia director, Anthony Agostini, was banned for four months after an altercation with Lyon goalkeeper Anthony Lopes.
On Wednesday French police arrested 11 men over the crowd trouble at the struggling club which faces relegation.
Five people were already facing prosecution after a group of hardcore fans at the turbulent Corsican club invaded the pitch at their home ground on April 16 to attack the Lyon players.
Two Lyon players, Lopes and Mathieu Gorgelin, filed police complaints after being attacked.
