When people think of Bernard Madoff in the United States, they would like to see the reinstatement of cruel and unusual punishment. Well there is another that might be thinking along those lines these days. Former Barcelona coach Louis Van Gaal is said to have lost close to US$ 6 million due to the former Wall Street guru’s Ponzi scheme.
He along with various other stars of the international sports world lost fortunes after dealing directly or indirectly with Madoff. So now the current AZ Alkmaar coach will look to head to higher ground-literally- as a possible move to the Premiership club Sunderland is in the books. That might help him recover some of the money he lost to Madoff’s scam.
