Sunderland and US international striker Jozy Altidore finally scored his first Premier League goal for Sunderland today.
Altidore scored for the Black Cats in the first half of the match against Chelsea at the Stadium of Light. Altidore, with his back to goal, did well to hold up the ball, and then twist and turn to get his shot on goal against Petr Cech and into the back of the net.
The goal is Altidore’s second Premier League goal. The first he scored was in 2010 for Hull City against Manchester City. Earlier this season, Altidore scored a goal in the Capital One Cup for Sunderland, but today was his first league goal for the club. Hopefully this will be the sign of things to come.
