Bayern Munich and Wolfsburg have agreed a deal which will see Brazil defender Dante move to the Volkswagen Arena.

The 31-year-old center-back is yet to undergo a medical with last season’s Bundesliga runners-up after his transfer request was accepted by the defending champions.

Bayern wrote on Twitter: “Thank you for everything! @dante_bonfim will soon complete a transfer to Wolfsburg. #ThanksDante.”

Dante began his career at Brazil side Juventude before joining Ligue 1 club Lille and also lists Borussia Monchengladbach among his former clubs.

The 13-cap Brazilian moved to the Bavarians in April 2012 and went on to make 86 league appearances for the German giants after making his debut in August 2012 and will join DFB Cup holders Wolfsburg on a three-year contract for a reported fee of 4.5 million euro.

Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge told www.fcbayern.de: “Dante simply wanted the chance to play regularly. We did not want to deny him this opportunity. We would like to thank Dante.

“FC Bayern enjoyed great success in his time at the club, with many wonderful moments and trophies. We’ve also come to know and value Dante as a very agreeable and likable person. We wish him all the best for the future.”
